Commodities Product Control – European EnergyDEPARTMENT OVERVIEWProduct Control is one of the primary support functions of Credit Suisse. As such, it is a driving force in the Finance, Administration and Operations (FA&O) Division. The department is responsible for understanding and controlling the trading business by substantiating the completeness, accuracy and validity of all business related corporate data that is used by Financial Control, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Collateral Management, trading and marketing. This will include completion of reconciled daily P&L, Balance Sheet, MIS for senior management and sales credits.Product Control is organised along functional product lines which mirror the Front Office businesses they support, namely Fixed Income, Equities, Investment Banking and Treasury.  MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DAILY PRODUCTION AND SUPERVISIONResponsible for daily P+L production and dealing with high complexity issues. Responsibilities include performing FOBO reconciliations, P+L Validation and Analysis (including Clean P+L), Journal Entry and Review and allocating Funding. Leads problem solving and implementation efforts. Where appropriate, ensure that work carried out under Service Level Agreements, including hand-offs with other groups, is clearly understood and issues promptly escalated via local line management.MONTHLY & QUARTERLY PRODUCTIONResponsible for month end and quarter end production tasks and dealing with high complexity issues. Responsibilities include Account Ownership, Book Management, Legal Entity and Regulatory Reporting and Accounting Policy Implementation. Leads problem solving and implementation efforts. Where appropriate, ensure that work carried out under Service Level Agreements, including hand-offs with other groups, is clearly understood and issues promptly escalated via local line management.CONTROL REPORTINGResponsible for control reporting and dealing with high complexity issues, which includes appropriate escalation, Incident Reporting, SOX documentation and testing. Leads problem solving and implementation efforts. Where appropriate, ensure that work carried out under Service Level Agreements, including hand-offs with other groups, is clearly understood and issues promptly escalated via local line management.STANDARDS, ISSUES AND ESCALATIONEnsure that PC standards are applied. Participate in analysis of identified issues or problems which may require changes to procedures, standards or systems, with appropriate escalation to the next level.CLIENTS AND PROJECT WORKWork with the Front office, the PC valuations team and other support functions on new products, applications and processes.        SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS- At least 3 years work experience in finance, which can include time spent in accountancy practice.- Qualified Accountant or commensurate experience.- Analytical approach to problem solving.- Strong interpersonal skills.- Must be a strong team player as the role will involve cross cover for individuals in other parts of the team (which also allows the candidate exposure to other products within Commodities). .
