Director, VRG Control Head – Rates/FX
With increased regulatory focus on valuations and model risk, there are significant changes underway across the industry (e.g. Prudent Valuation; Valuation Uncertainty framework). In such an environment, it has become more important than ever to focus on the quality of the valuation process.To support this focus, Credit Suisse is expanding its VRG Control team. The VRG Control Head will be responsible for ensuring the appropriateness of valuation methods, their application, and related processes. The role will involve active interaction with VRG Product Heads, Line PC as well as extensive liaison with all stakeholders in the valuation process i.e. Front Office, Quantitative Analytics, Strategic Risk Management & Strategic Valuation Management. It will provide an opportunity for a cross asset perspective on valuations.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The role has two main areas of focus- Defining and implementing of strategic end-state for Credit Suisse valuation practices and processes- Ensuring the ongoing quality of core valuation processes"Definition and implementation of strategic end-state for Credit Suisse valuation practices and processes":Credit Suisse is currently undergoing a major investment programme to enhance the firms derivatives infrastructure and move to the next generation finance platform. As part of this multi-year programme, the candidate will, in conjunction with Line PC:- Perform a detailed review of the existing valuation processes- Work with Line PC to define a strategic architecture and target state for IPV, model review & P&L explain processes- Drive the implementation of the defined industry leading valuation processes"Ensuring the ongoing quality of existing valuation processes":The candidate will maintain high standards for valuation at the firm through - Ongoing assessment of methodologies for price testing and valuation adjustments against industry standards and emerging best practice- Provide technical support to Line PC and guidance/deep dive analysis on specific issues, where typically in-depth and prolonged analysis is needed .
