GCA – Manager - Control, Compliance & Procedures-1108638DescriptionResponsibilities:Manage International Team Leaders responsible for leading the International CCP’s in the high-paced and highly-regulated GCA environment for regulatory, policy, and procedural call and transactional monitoring and oversight including BST. This position has the potential for oversight of International Procedural Governance also.Maintain a pulse on the ever-changing demands from a regulatory and legal perspective impacting GCA and possess the skills to quickly mobilize resources to assess, implement, and monitor processes to align to changing demands in the industry when they surface.Drive engagement of the International GCA-CC&P team as a key Listening Post for GCA through realtime identification, analysis, and remediation of process breakpoints across the organization.Ensure robust and targeted regulatory application across all International GCA and CC&P processes and new strategies.Facilitate oversight and drive engagement with business partners as a gatekeeper of a closed-loop system within International GCA-CC&P for all new strategy ideation, design, implementation, monitoring, and remediation.Establish and maintain a strong partnership with key business partners including Compliance, Bank, GCO, Risk, Credit Ops, and IAG to enable a sound regulatory governance process within GCA.Ensure strong controls, rigorous reporting and sound governance around the International GCA Business Self Testing Program.Work with US partners to facilitate migration and maturation of best-in-class processes within US GCA-CC&P including monitoring tools and techniques, BST approach, falsification strategy, sampling strategies, etc. while ensuring the integrity and stability of existing processes.Drive alignment with the global organization on all new strategies and applicable regulatory impacts to ensure standardized and highly-effective and controlled processes globally.Drive innovation and change through continuous process improvement.American Express is an equal opportunity employer.Qualifications:· A degree or equivalent work experience with emphasis on credit cards, banking, insurance, regulatory compliance or audit required· Demonstrated knowledge of banking laws and regulations required· Strong knowledge of GCA and Risk processes and procedures required.· Demonstrated ability to think strategically and with a process-oriented focus required.· Strong analytical skills and ability to identify potential compliance issues, perform root cause and recommend solutions· Flexible to work with global teams across various time-zones· Ability to think and act strategically and tactically, backed up by mature business judgment· Excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to persuade and influence a broad spectrum of constituents at all levels· Ability to work independently or within a team environment, as required and will be self-motivated, dependable, adaptable, and detail oriented· Strong relationship building experience / ability to develop relationships with executives, process owners, operational risk peers and leadership teams· Strong team player with ability to influence opinions without having direct authority· Strong presentation skills, particularly in the development of compelling and insightful materials· Strong communication skills to convey strategic insight and thought leadership in identifying emerging regulatory issues and to deliver high quality, actionable feedback to management· Proven ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously as well as frequent ad-hoc requests· Project Management and process reengineering skills and experience required.· Demonstrated strong people leadership experience required with experience leading an Exempt staff preferred.· Strong attention to detail and ability to translate requirements across business partners and across all levels of the organization required· Outstanding problem solving ability and/or Six Sigma skills required· Demonstrated ability to execute strategically and globally.· Demonstrated conceptual and competitive foresight when working with business partners to assess business impacts.· Strong working knowledge of the GCA infrastructure ( eg.
