Software Quality Assurance and QA Tools Engineer

The candidate for this role will be focusing on testing and developing tools for the GUI, and providing consistent and measurable ways to prove data, systems and features delivered. The core system that is being created has been around delivering a trading focused product to give the traders more access to the functionality, and more control over the types of tasks they run, so that the traders have the same level of flexibility to manage their books that they have today in the spreadsheets. Excellent communicator with peers, managers and business usersAbility to take ownership of issues and follow to resolutionAbility to work individually, in a team and across teams.Sensitivity to control.Delivery focusedWork well under pressureTolerance for changeGood understanding of the importance of good software development practices Derivatives IT provides development and support of front, middle and back office applications used by the global OTC derivatives business for interest rate, credit and equity derivatives, options and fund linked products.  Interest Rate Products (IRP) is an integral part of the SDII change program.  Specifically we are focused on the migration of the exotics books off spreadsheets onto our strategic risk management and pricing system. This is seen by the head of the exotics business sees as a critically important project that requires additional funding at this current time. As such we have been given an exception to hire into the various SDII related work streams. These are:•Building out more front-office trader tools and functionality•Working on the client-server hook-up, and the server-side functionality•Integrating new models and migrating trades from spreadsheets.Alongside this, we have a team dedicated to support and BAU-related developments. The strategic development will be ring-fenced, but functionality delivered by the strategic teams will be consumed by, and so need to work closely with the BAU teams.The strategic system (called Jane) is an in-house solution that is being adopted by multiple business lines. This is developed in C#,  leveraging TIBCO EMS and Gemstone’s GemFire  on app servers.
